Starke County Community Foundation Scholarships

 Forrest and Helen Whitson Scholarship - Applicants must be qualified sophomore or higher students attending Purdue University in the School of Engineering, Agriculture or Consumer and Family Living (Family Sciences) who have graduated from a Starke County High School, and who are deserving of financial assistance. Students have attended high school in Indiana for at least four years and must have graduated in at least the highest twenty percent (20%) of their high school graduating class.

PDF Back Home Again in Indiana Scholarship - Specifically for Non- traditional students. This scholarship is designed to give preference to non-traditional students who wish to further their education and/or training as a way of enhancing their employment skills.

Qualified recipients include adult students who wish to re-enter the job market, advance in their current field, or enter the job market for the first time after hardship circumstances, such as divorce, health complications involving family members, loss of employment, or other obstacles. Deadline August 9th 2010

Starke County and Fulton County Community Foundation Scholarships


Ed Hasnerl/WKVI Scholarship                                                      Graduating high school senior who is a Starke County resident.Express an interest in the study of communications and/or media-related subjects. (SCCF)
Winifred J. Simpkins/Spirit of Nursing Scholarship                  Starke County residents and graduates of any Indiana high school, enrolled in an Indiana accredited Registered Nursing Program. (SCCF)
Starke Memorial Hosp. Med. Staff Health Occ/Medical Ed. Scholarship                                                                                  Residents of Starke Countyand attended high school in Indiana for 4 years, graduated in the highest 20% of their class and pursuing a career in a health-related field. (SCCF) 
Roy Haggerty Memorial Scholarship                                              Must be residents of Fulton County, Indiana, full-time students at Indiana University Bloomington or one of the Indiana University campuses. (FCCF)
Mark Howdeshell Memorial Scholarship                                       Resident of Fulton County and must attend a 4 year college or university in Indiana. Preference given to students who plan to study engineering or a medical field. (FCCF)
Jayson McCalla Memorial Scholarship                                        Fulton County resident and graduating high school senior. For 2, 3 or 4 year Indiana college, university or trade school. GPA of an A not eligible. Participation in baseball is given some preference. (FCCF)
John R. Nelson Memorial Scholarship                                     Residents of Aubbeenaubbee or Rochester Township, graduating from Culver Community or Rochester High School. Must maintain a “B” average during high school and continue their secondary education in the field of education and teaching. (FCCF)
Amanda Kay Ramsey Memorial Scholarship                          Residents of Fulton County. Graduating seniors of any Fulton County High School or non-traditional student. Majoring in radiology therapy; respiratory or cardiopulmonary therapy; or nursing. (FCCF)
Howard M. Utter and Helen Pike Utter Scholarship (available 2014)                                                                                                   Must reside in Indiana and attended an Indiana high school during their senior year in high school; ranked in the top one-third of their high school ; those who have a parent employed at Pike Lumber Company are given some preference according to a scoring percentage. (FCCF)
The Harold E. & Neva Funk Mikesell Scholarship
Resident of the following Fulton County Townships: Aubbee, Wayne, Liberty, Rochester or Union. Must attend an Indiana College or University, including trade, business or secretarial schools. (FCCF)
Starke Co. Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program
The program will provide scholarships for full tuition, required fees, and a special allocation of up to $800 per year for required books and required equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis, leading to a baccalaureate degree at any Indiana public or private college or university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Established in 2006 to provide scholarships to students graduating from Knox High School or non-traditional students who previously graduated from Knox High School. Preference will be given to those applicants who plan to pursue a degree in Construction Management or building trades.
Robert O. and Doris E. Winters Scholarship Fund

Megan Elytha Jean Sahlhoff Music Scholarship
Established in September 2003 by Cindy Sahlhoff in memory of her daughter Megan. This fund is to provide scholarships to qualified students graduating from North Judson-San Pierre High School who are pursuing a career with a major or minor in the field of music or a music related field, who are deserving of financial assistance and who are likely to succeed as college or university students.

Established in 1998 to provide scholarships to nursing and/or medical students who have graduated from North Judson-San Pierre High School and who are deserving of financial assistance.
