Fulton County Community Foundation Scholarships

PDF Fulton County 4Community Higher Education Scholarship - For Fulton County residents who are GED recipients. Scholarship recipients must be accepted into an accredited college, university, trade or vocational school in Indiana.

PDF Bill Schroer Memorial Fund Scholarship - Recipients will be awarded assistance with books and supplies for their college education. Must be Fulton County Indiana residents and graduated from a Rochester High School. Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, trade or vocational school. Deadline August 9th 2010

PDF Fulton County Youth Fund Scholarship - For students who have graduated from a high school in Fulton County; Completed 1 year in an accredited 4 year Indiana College or University; Pursing a career working with youth or children. Deadline August 9th 2010.

PDF Greg Peter Memorial Fund - graduate of Rochester High School, Rochester and resident of Fulton County pursing a degree in the arts and/or HVAC education at an accredited college, university, trade or vocational school. Deadline August 9th 2010.

PDF Ginger Miller Higher Education Scholarship - For qualified college graduates pursuing graduate or professional school degrees. Must be a resident of Fulton County Indiana;
accepted into a postgraduate studies program; graduated/currenlty have a GPA of a “B” or Higher and show financial need. Deadline August 9th 2010

PDF Back Home Again in Indiana Scholarship - Specifically for Non- traditional students. This scholarship is designed to give preference to non-traditional students who wish to further their education and/or training as a way of enhancing their employment skills.

Qualified recipients include adult students who wish to re-enter the job market, advance in their current field, or enter the job market for the first time after hardship circumstances, such as divorce, health complications involving family members, loss of employment, or other obstacles. Deadline August 9th 2010

Due Date: January 22, 2010 Fulton County F.O.P. is offering a $500 scholarship to a graduating Fulton County senior. Seniors applying must be majoring in law enforcement. The scholarship will be awarded after successful completion of the first semester of college. A resume and budget sheet are required.
Due Date: January 22, 2010 Kappa Delta Phi Sorority will award two scholarships for seniors planning to attend college or vocational school. To apply, write a paragraph about yourself and your educational goals. A resume and a budget sheet are also required.
Due Date: January 22, 2010 The Rochester Elks Lodge 2120 offers scholarships to students who reside in Fulton County and are related to a member of the Lodge. Applications are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: January 22, 2010 The Woodlawn Hospital Auxiliary is offering one or more scholarships for Fulton County seniors going into any medical related field. A personal interview may be required. Applications are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: January 29, 2010 The American Legion Auxiliary established several scholarships for Fulton County students interested in attending college or vocational schools. The monetary award will be made at the completion of the first semester or term upon presentation or copy of a grade report. Applications are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: January 29, 2010 The Dorothy and Paul Arven Memorial Scholarship Trust is available to Fulton County residents planning to enter the nursing profession or study agriculture at the college level. Applicants must complete an application form and submit two letters of recommendation with the application. Applications are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: January 29, 2010 Eagles Lodge, Golf Committee, Aerie, Auxiliary – $750 and $500 scholarships for students planning to attend a two-year or four-year college. A resume and a budget sheet are required. Include in the resume whether or not your parent is a member of the Eagles Lodge.
Due Date: January 29, 2010 The American Legion 40 & 8 will be giving one scholarship to a student in either Fulton or Cass County who is pursuing an R.N. or higher degree. The amount awarded is $500, which may be renewed their second year in school. Applications are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: February 5, 2010 The Rochester Optimist Club offers five $750 non-renewable scholarships to a senior boy or girl who plans to attend a 4-year college or university or vocational school in Indiana. Financial need will not necessarily be a factor in selecting recipients. Applications are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: February 5, 2010 Richland Center I.O.O.F. Scholarship is for graduating seniors from Rochester High School who reside in Richland Township or have a family member who is a member of the lodge. At least one $300 scholarship will be awarded. A resume is required.
Due Date: February 5, 2010 The Si Deeb Agricultural Scholarship was established in the spring of 1980 by local farmers, ag-related businessmen, and friends as a tribute to Si Deeb who spent 32 years influencing and guiding the youth of our community into agricultural careers. Senior boys and girls planning to pursue a degree in agriculture at either a four-year, a two-year, or a short course are eligible for the scholarship. A form, which lists eligibility requirements, is available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010. A resume and a budget sheet are required.
Due Date: February 5, 2010 The Local 5840 United Steelworkers are offering a $500.00 scholarship which will be awarded to the student after completing their first semester of college in which they must maintain a "C" average. The student must complete a resume, letter of recommendation from a guidance counselor or teacher and a brief plan of how you will cover the cost of your college. Applications are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: February 12, 2010 The Fulton County Young Farmers will be awarding scholarship(s) to recognize students committed to agriculture and advancing their respective agricultural field. The applicant must be a resident of Fulton County and be enrolled or accepted at an accredited college or university pursuing a career in agricultural or related vocational field. The scholarship will be paid following the completion of the first semester of college and the student must show that they have maintained a 2.5/4.0 during that semester. Applicants must complete the application form and an essay of 250 words or less. Applications are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: February 12, 2010 Psi Iota Xi offers four scholarships to college bound students. Students must pursue a college major in speech and hearing, music, literature or art. The award will be paid at the beginning of the student’s junior year. The scholarship recipient shall provide to the Psi Iota Xi chairwoman a copy of their last semester’s grades and the student must still be majoring in one of the four acceptable majors. Resumes and budget sheets are required for all four scholarships. Guidelines and specific information to be included in the resume are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: February 12, 2010 Rochester Classroom Teachers Association offers two scholarships of $750 for students entering the field of education. If still pursuing a career in education, the recipient will receive the award upon completion of their sophomore year. A resume is required along with three teacher’s recommendations. The teachers selected must represent elementary, middle, and high school. A guideline of instructions is available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: February 12, 2010 The Rochester IOOF Lodge #47 is offering two $500 scholarships to two Fulton County residents wishing to further their education after high school. The $500 will be given at the beginning of the students’ second term. A guideline for applying will be available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010. A budget sheet is also required.
Due Date: February 12, 2010 The Spanish Club is offering a scholarship to a senior who plans to continue his/her study of Spanish within two years of high school graduation. The student need not pursue a major or a minor in Spanish. The recipient of the award will receive the scholarship upon successfully completing one Spanish course within two years of high school graduation. A form, which lists eligibility requirements, is available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010. A committee of two teachers and one administrator will select the recipient.

Northern Indiana Community Foundation Scholarships
Information/Applications for the following scholarships can be found in the NICF Scholarship Packet, and are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010:
Due Date: February 26, 2010 Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority awards both a college scholarship and a business or vocational school scholarship. The college scholarship is an award of $2,000 paid over the normal 4-year college span (in other words, $500 per year). The business or vocational award is for $500 paid in a lump sum at the beginning of the next school year. A resume and a budget sheet are required for each scholarship. Three recommendations from teachers and community acquaintances are requested. Guidelines for making an application are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: February 26, 2010 Kiwanis Scholarship The following conditions must be met to be considered: 1. Applicants for these scholarships must be R.H.S. graduating seniors. 2. Applicants must have attended at least two years of high school at Rochester Community High School, including their senior year. 3. Students must have attained a cumulative grade point average of “C” (5.0/12.0 or 2.0/4.0) or better during their high school careers. The Rochester Kiwanis Club will determine the number of awards given and the amount of these awards on a yearly basis. All cash awards will be made payable to the student and the college, university or school where the student will be attending. Each recipient will also receive a plaque commemorating the award. These plaques will be awarded to the winners at the annual Honors Night program in the spring of the year. Checks will be issued at or near the time that the student first attends the college, school, or university. Applications are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010. A resume is also required.
Due Date: February 26, 2010 The Rochester Community High School Memorial Scholarship Fund awards will be determined on the basis of character, potential for success, school/community involvement, and scholarship. Financial need MAY be considered, but is not a qualifier or disqualifier. Candidates will be asked to complete an application and return it to the high school. Awards will be announced at Honors Night in the spring for graduating seniors, and published in the newspaper for all others. The awards will be paid to the recipient and post-secondary institution in August. At least one scholarship of at least $200 will be awarded. Applications are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: February 26, 2010 The William A Smith Memorial Scholarship is awarded by the Manitou Moose Lodge 1107. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to daughters and sons or grandchildren of Loyal Order of Moose and Women of the Moose members of Lodge 1107 and Chapter 1684. These scholarships are available to high school students with a “C” or better grade average for the purpose of attending an accredited college (4 yr or 2 yr) or accredited technical school. Applications are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: March 5, 2010 Fulton County Farm Bureau will offer scholarships to Fulton County high school seniors whose families are residents of Fulton County and members of Fulton County Farm Bureau Inc. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of: A) The ability of the applicant to complete college level work B) Transcript of grades C) Personality and character D) Leadership ability E) Need The scholarships are to be used at any accredited university, college, trade school, or the Purdue short course. Applications are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: March 5, 2010 The Rochester Lions Club offers four scholarships yearly. The scholarships are awarded based on outstanding performance and most improved performance. The scholarships are for graduating seniors enrolling in any post secondary training program. Preference will be given to students entering teaching or a closely related area of study; however, teaching does not need to be considered a requirement for making application. The Lion’s Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of recipients. A resume and a budget sheet are required. Payment of all awards will be made upon presentation of the receipt of payment fees to the college.
Due Date: March 5, 2010 The Jeff McLochlin Memorial Scholarship has been established to honor one of Rochester High School’s finest football players and a fallen hero of our community. The scholarship will be awarded to a RHS senior male athlete with preference being given to football participants. The scholarship amount will be awarded at $1,000 per year. The total amount of the scholarship will be $4,000 for a student who attends a 4-year college or $2,000 for a student attending a vocational/technical school. A resume and budget sheet are required.
Due Date: March 5, 2010 The Fulton County Pork Producers are giving two $500 awards for either a 2-year associate degree in agriculture or 4-year course of study in agriculture. Applications are available in the guidance office after January 11, 2010.
Due Date: March 12, 2010 The Fulton County Girl Scout leaders are offering at least one $250 scholarship to a senior girl who is a registered scout in the Fulton County Service Unit. The scholarship is for any post-secondary educational program. Application forms are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: March 12, 2010 Fulton County REMC will offer eight $500 scholarships to seniors whose families are REMC members. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of: 1. SAT or ACT scores 2. Cumulative grade point average 3. Personal achievements, activities and goals Scholarships will be paid to the student at the start of the second semester with proof of full time enrollment in a college or trade school. Applications are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: March 12, 2010 The Rotary Club of Rochester will present a $250 scholarship to a prospective or current nursing student who resides in Fulton County. The candidate must be working towards an RN degree. Applications are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.
Due Date: April 15, 2010 The Charles and Elizabeth Babcock Memorial Scholarship committee awards several scholarships ranging in amounts from $150 to $1,000 to students entering college, business, or vocational school. Awards are distributed each semester. Applications must be submitted by April 15 for fall distribution and November 30 for the spring semester. Only graduates of Rochester High School are eligible to apply. Applications are the only requirement. No resumes, budget sheets, etc. Applications are available in the guidance office on January 11, 2010.

Claude & Marie Berger Scholarship
Seniors from North Miami and Tippecanoe Valley High Schools. Must have a "B" average or above.
The W.D. Cumberland 4-H Scholarship
Established in December 2003 by Scott Cumberland to provide scholarships for qualified students graduating from Rochester, Tippecanoe Valley, Caston or Winamac High Schools.
Amanda Kay Ramsey Memorial Scholarship Fund
Established in 2006 by the family of Amanda Kay Ramsey to provide scholarships to Fulton County residents who are majoring in radiology therapy, respiratory or cardiopulmonary therapy or nursing.
Howard M. Utter and Helen Pike Utter Scholarship
Not Available Until 2006-2007 School Year. (Currently Supporting A Student.)
Patricia Kumler Hoover Nursing Scholarship
Established in April 2003 by Patricia M. Hoover to provide scholarships for qualified graduating seniors from Tippecanoe Valley H.S. enrolled in an accredited state nursing program. Preference will be given to applicants pursuing an RN Degree.
Careers In Agriculture Scholarship
High School Seniors, based on scholastic achievement, leadership in agriculture, and contribute to agriculture in the future.
Hilliard Gates Scholarship
Based on sports participation, must plan to attend IPFW, IIT or USF.

Fulton Co. Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program
The program will provide scholarships for full tuition, required fees, and a special allocation of up to $800 per year for required books and required equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis, leading to a baccalaureate degree at any Indiana public or private college or university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Must be a Fulton County Resident.

The 2009 Fulton County Community Scholarships in one application packet. Note that the Lilly Endowment Scholarship has a separate application which is listed below. Deadline date is January 6th 2009.
Fulton County Community Foundation Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship
A four year full-tuition scholarship given to two local high school seniors who will begin their college career in the fall of 2009. This scholarship has a separate application whose criteria and scoring processes are developed by the Fulton County Community Foundation Scholarship Committee and approved by Independent Colleges of Indiana. Deadline date is January 6th 2009.
